Giving back to Robin

Let me preface this by saying that I never imagined I would start a Go Fund Me page. It gets a bad rap, and frankly I don't like asking for things. I must get that from my mom, Robin. :) Mom has always been that type of woman who gets business handled and never asks for ANYTHING in return, which is why I'm doing it for her (and without asking her first, because I know she would have been vehemently opposed to this idea).

As many of you know, around Thanksgiving my mom's house (and the childhood home for my siblings and I) was broken into and many things of value (mostly sentimental) were taken. A chest that my grandma hand painted and had given to her as a child was filled up with valuables, including jewelry and my dad's urn (which I always went upstairs to hug during my visits home), was carried away in the night. A giant tool box filled with the tools my dad enjoyed tinkering around and working on our cars with out in the garage were taken, and the guitars my mom strummed to help get her through the days following the loss of her own dad as a teenager are gone. To say that we're grateful my mom wasn't home or hurt is an understatement, but anyone who knows my mom knows that she doesn't deserve what happened to her.

In the weeks prior to this incident was the ice storm that caused a lot of trees to snap and fall on her property (thankfully she was not injured by any of that), and the estimate given to her to clean up this damage was close to $3,000. It breaks my heart to see my mom saddened by these incidents and stressed about having to come up with over $4,000 to fix the damage and meet her deductible for insurance on items that she can never truly buy back.

My mom has inspired and positively impacted so many people in her lifetime as a teacher, a volunteer, a mom and a friend. If you even have just $5.00 you could send her way to help ease this burden on her it would literally make my whole Christmas. Regardless, please continue to pray for her in hopes that at least my dad's ashes are recovered and that my mom may have strength and peace of mind through it all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and Merry Christmas.
