Giving Back to our Friend & Teacher Yossi Katz

Hi. This is Galit Haim - Gaye Jacob as Ramah Poconnos alum know me. I have started this GoFund collection as a way to give back to our former teacher and mentor, Yossi Katz. As some of you may already know, Yossi is suffering from a degenerative brain disorder. He is in an advanced stage of this horrible disease, and currently resides in a nursing home in Hadera, Israel. Yossi needs assistance and medical care round-the-clock. His body is rapidly failing him, while his cognitive function remains status quo. As Yossi's physical condition has deteriorated, his ability to communicate has also significantly declined. It is only a matter of time before Yossi will be trapped inside his failing body, unable to speak or write. It is my desire to honor Yossi, our friend/teacher/mentor through this GoFund Me collection. It is a way that we can all "give back" to Yossi and honor him for who he is - a special one-of-a-kind person who had an incredible impact on so many of our lives. All of the funds collected will be transferred to Israel and used for Yossi's well-being. I am in direct contact with Yair, one of Yossi's three children. He and his siblings are managing Yossi's affairs together. The money we collect will be used to help give Yossi quality of life. There is no cure for Yossi's disorder. My hope is that our financial assistance will contribute to giving Yossi the best life possible, for his remaining days.
