Giving Back to NMS

I have been going to Neighborhood Music School since I was six months old. Since then, I have had countless experiences and met so many teachers and friends who have changed my life. From my daycare teacher Erica to my current vocal coach Deb, NMS has shaped the person that I am today. As I prepare to head off to Minneapolis to pursue a BFA in acting, my gratitude towards this school is limitless. Every lesson is unique and special and cultivates so much more than just artistic technique; Mary introduced me to the magic of music, Tracy taught me self-expression, Pete showed me how to truly rock out, Tiffany gave me confidence and Phen gave me a chance, allowing me into the world of theater that would soon become so, so important to me. Now, I hope to be able to give this chance to someone else. Leading up to my final recital at Neighborhood, I would like to raise enough money, $2,160 to be exact, to help fund a child's private lessons at the school for a year. The power of art is priceless, and it can be easy to undervalue the importance of artistic inspiration and engagement, even for students who don't plan on careers in the arts.
