Misty was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer on 4/10/2023. This has been an unexpected life change for her and her family.
Misty is amazing daughter, sister, friend, coworker and most importantly, mother of 3. She is hard working at everything she does and will do anything it takes to help others. Over the past years, she has given so much love and support to others in need by fundraising any way she can. Now it’s our time to give back to her and help her out during this difficult life change. Her family and friends are hoping to raise enough so she doesn’t think about having to work to keep up with bills and expenses for her family over the next months/year as she goes through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
As of 4/27, Misty has had her chemo port and feeding tube put in. She will have 25 days (5 days a week) of radiation and 3 weeks (5 days a week every other week) of chemo Cisplatin and pump with Fluorouracil. She will have to wait a few weeks after last treatment before she will have the surgery. Recovery will be about 7-10 days in the hospital and months recovery after that including immunotherapy.
As of 5/24, Misty has had one round of chemo and 12/25 days of radiation. Round two of chemo will be May 30th and 3rd round in June. She has been staying positive even through the bad days for her. Thank you to everyone that has helped and reached out to support Misty. It truly means a lot to her.
Everything is appreciated.
with love,
Misty’s family
