Giving Back to Mindy

Hi, my name is Sheryl, and I am fundraising for Mindy Waldhauser. Mindy was recently diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer and has begun weekly chemotherapy and must have radiation daily for 6-7 weeks

Shortly after moving to Ramona, I had the pleasure to meet Mindy and to call her my friend, as I got to know her it became wildly apparent that she was very well known and loved in Ramona she has built a reputation of always helping and giving.

Every time we go out in our community, there is always someone that she knows who runs up to her with open arms & a hug, excited to see her.

She has been a volunteer in our community for almost anything or anyone that is needing help, this includes the Ramona Valley vineyard association, the Art & Wine festival, the Senior Center, The Ramona heart mural project, the Kenilworth Inn benefit, countless hours helping harvest grapes for our vineyards and wineries and a host of other events, people and places that need help , if there is a need, Mindy is there with a smile on her face and ready to work.

Mindy has given literally hundreds and hundreds of hours over the years giving to others. If you are a local business chances, are she has posted on Facebook about your business and what she finds awesome about it, to help keep our small business in the spotlight.

Drs say this form of radiation is some of the toughest to endure due to the sensitive tissue in the mouth and face, this combined with chemotherapy ensures there is no way she will be able to work for the better part of this year during treatment and recovery.

Mindy is a single woman with two young adult children who are just starting out they still live at home and help where they can but basically, she has no financial help to get her through the year or with medical and living expenses.

Ok here is where I break it down…….

Mindy has over 1300 Facebook friends alone and many others that are not online, it would be a dream of mine to see everyone chip in a little if everyone gave $5. It would go over the goal, if everyone gave $10 it would get her through the next 6 months, if everyone gave $20, she could spend a year in treatment and recovery without worry.

Obviously, not everyone can or will donate so if you can give a little more it will cover the people who can’t or can only give a little.

Let’s see if we can get Mindy a reprieve for the next year and allow her to fight for her life with everything, she has instead of worrying about her necessities! Let’s give back to Mindy
