Giving Back To Lori
Our beloved Lori could use our help right now, and I hope you’ll consider giving a little something to get her through this tough time.
Lori’s Facebook post (1/13) broke my heart, and inspired me to create this campaign... Here’s what’s up;
In the past month, she’s been sick with COVID (her second time now, despite being fully vaccinated), her car was totaled on Christmas Eve from sliding off the road in a snowstorm, her daughter Emily’s car broke down/is no longer drive-able, and she ran out of rental car coverage through her insurance after 7 days.
Lori is worried that she will not be able to afford even a decent used car after the insurance proceeds from her totaled vehicle, based on how inflated used car prices have become lately. When Lori recovers from COVID, she’ll have the added stress of relying on friends and family to drive her to/from work for a while, unless or until she has the resources to procure a replacement vehicle.
There are countless ways that Lori gives of her time and resources to others in their time of need. Just this past summer, on break from teaching low-income, vulnerable children in HeadStart, she freely volunteered to fly into Dallas, TX from her home in Hammond, OR to serve for several weeks as an in-home caregiver for our grandmother Sugar, providing much needed respite for our family.
I know that all of you blessed to know Lori personally can attest that she is a cheerful giver, who brings light to even the most serious and difficult situations.
While Lori’s unfortunate circumstances are temporary, the gift of our support will remind her that she is forever loved, never alone, and worthy of our help in this time of need. So, please join me in raising some funds to turn Lori’s lemons into lemonade for her sweet tea vodka!
Sincerely,
Brandon Kent Parsons
