Jose Cruz is a wonderful man, the kind of person who helps everyone he knows.
After losing his mother four years ago, his father became ill as well. Jose and his father were very close – his dad would wait up every night for him to come home from work. His eyes would light up with joy as soon as he saw his son, and they would stay up talking for hours.
For the past four years, Jose worked hard to pay for his dad’s living expenses, as well as his medical expenses, including dialysis, doctor visits and medications. His father finally had a kidney transplant last year; Jose was overwhelmed by the cost of the medications that would keep his father’s body from rejecting the kidney.
In addition to working full time as a concierge in a condo building, Jose worked extra jobs on nights and weekends to take care of his dad -- all the while, caring for (and providing for) his own daughters as well. Everything he has goes to those he loves.
Recently, Jose’s dad caught pneumonia, became very ill again, and was hospitalized. He passed away on February 11, 2023.
Jose, the kindest person you could ever know, is going through an incredibly difficult time and he needs our help. My name is Tracey and I am part of an HOA in the building where Jose works. We have chosen to raise funds for the dearest person we know.
Jose has spent the last two weeks looking for a funeral home that will help him bury his father with dignity. Unfortunately, the whole process has been a tremendous financial challenge. This GoFundMe exists to help Jose cover the cost of burying his beloved father.
