As most of you know, my dad and Greg lost their sister, Lisa Jackson, last year after a long battle with the disease Scleroderma. For those that don’t know, scleroderma causes chronic hardening and contraction of the skin and connective tissue in the body along with a long list of other side effects. My Aunt Lisa was one of the most kind and generous people I have ever known. Those of you who were fortunate enough to meet her know what I am talking about. Her passion was the Boys and Girls Club along with countless other charities. She gave her time, money and love effortlessly. It is my goal to continue her legacy the best that I can.
As you continue to read, please do not feel obligated to participate. If it is not in your heart and you do not feel led, please don’t. You will not be judged or ridiculed for opting out. That being said, my Dad’s birthday is next Friday. I know several of you have asked in the past about what kind of gift to give. My family has been so fortunate, and the man just doesn’t need much and what he does “need” is expensive lol! I would like to donate to The Boys and Girls club or a Scleroderma research foundation. TMI will match the donation amount, no limit!
We finally have a chance to give this man a small piece of what he has given to all of us. The hours away from home, the emails, phone calls, texts and damn good advice. He loves you all dearly and I hope we can come together and surprise him with a meaningful gift that will continue my Aunt Lisa’s legacy. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
All my love,
JG
