Steve Gribbin is one of the most altruistic people I have ever met. Steve has always been community minded and even with being seriously unwell he has been president of Apex at a National level and now a member of Rotary.
Steve is always giving to others and now is the time for us to give something back.
Steve has fought Hepatitis C for most of his life and in 2016 Steve had a liver transplant and now Steve is in for yet another fight for his life.
Steve has developed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). There are currently 300 people diagnosed with ALL each year in Australia about 120 of these are adults and we think Steve is the only one who has had a liver transplant.
Steve’s treatment is currently going to consist of 8 x 21 day cycles at the RPA followed by a 2 week break then a further 8 x 21 day cycles provided Steve’s liver can keep up with the extremely aggressive chemotherapy regimen.
Steve’s wife Faye who has constantly been by his side is currently also out for the count with a serious back injury so currently cannot travel but once she can will need help with travel and accommodation costs.
Even with all of Steve’s health issues over the years he has been helping others. Steve lobbied Federal government to help get Hepatitis C medication on the PBS (pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme). Steve has also started a liver transplant support group to help others.
Any donation no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated to help this most deserving couple.
