In Memory of Godfrey Kamya

Hello Cape May Community  and Beyond, 

It is with great sadness that The Washington Inn family relates the news of Godfrey Kamya’s passing. Early on Christmas morning, Godfrey left us to go back to his maker. We all feel absolutely devastated imaging a world without him

Right now, we are switching this account to a memorial account. The funds we have already raised, and continue to raise, will go to offset the funeral costs and serve as a trust for his two daughters. These young ladies were the absolute love of Godfrey’s life. Every time he would tell stories about them, you could watch his eyes twinkle. He will rest comfortably knowing his Cape May Community is helping to care for them.

I recently came across a quote, “ Fashion your life as a garland of beautiful deeds.” Godfrey did just that through his life and his interaction with each of us. Any of us who spent time with Godfrey shared in that garland Now, in his honor, we should all continue to do the same thing by mirroring his joy and kindness to everyone around us.
