At my 20-week scan, our world changed forever when our daughter, Dolly, was diagnosed with a complex heart condition - Pulmonary atresia with VSD. From the moment she was born, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital has been there for her — and for us — every step of the way.

Dolly has already undergone two surgeries at Alder Hey and is now awaiting open-heart surgery once she grows a little bigger. Recently, she was admitted unexpectedly, and once again the incredible team at Alder Hey quite literally saved her life. Sitting beside her in intensive care, watching strangers fight so hard for my little girl, I realised how deeply in debt we are to this hospital and we forever will be.

From the cleaners who kept the ward calm and welcoming, to the nurses and doctors who carried us through our darkest moments, every single member of staff helped keep me and Joe grounded when we felt like we were falling apart. Their care didn’t just save Dolly — it supported our whole family through the hardest days of our lives.

To say thank you doesn’t feel like enough, but it’s a start. That’s why on 17th May 2026 I’ll be taking on a skydive to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. I’ll be doing it alongside my two amazing friends, Nikki and Georgia, who are bravely jumping with me for support — and for Dolly.

No amount of money could ever repay what Alder Hey has given us, but I hope that by raising as much as possible, I can help them continue their life-saving work for other families like ours.
