On August 28th, 2022, Roy Nesbitt was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable cancer and metastatic disease with only months to live. But this is not what defines him. Roy's wife, Lisa, says Roy is the most inspiring, positive human being she has ever met. Even after 37 years of marriage, Roy and Lisa find time to hike and sleep under the star in hammocks. Roy is an avid outdoorsman and athlete and has always dreamed of living in Montana, a dream that came true just two years ago.
Because of his healthy lifestyle, Roy has increased his lifespan, his vitals are perfect, and he could continue to beat the odds and live through the holidays or beyond. Still, the looming medical bills are an added stress that the Nesbitts should not have to worry about as they are trying to enjoy their limited time together.
Lisa and Roy need help paying the high medical bills of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. They had a 10-day hospital stay, and the cost of that and medical charges were over $43,000. The stress of losing a source of income and paying for hospice care will weigh heavily on their minds as they fill Roy's days with as much adventure as possible. Despite their situation, Lisa and Roy remain optimistic and still give their time and energy to their community, as they have done their entire lives.
