Love & Support For Howard & Joyce Johnson

We are a family. We are not only a human family, but more importantly, we are the family of God. We love one another. We care for one another. When one of our family members hurts, we lift them up. When one is in need, we give. We bear one another's burdens, in love. (Galations 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.) Our family, The Johnson's, need us now.
Our story:
In June 2019, Howard Johnson went from a helping hand and constant presence in Oasis Christian Centre's parking lot ministry (one of the first interactions with the worshipers on Sunday mornings), to being admitted to Overlook Hospital in critical condition. This began what has now become a year long journey for he, his wife, Joyce and their 4 children; from ICU, to rehab in early July 2019 to finally coming home on November 13th, after 5 months of treatment. However, this was by no means, the end of an extremely difficult fight for The Johnson's.
Since that time, Howard has required continuous medical attention, multiple rehabs, has been in and out of the hospital on several occasions, most recently in June, for a month's time. As a result, his wife Joyce had to make the difficult decision to transition from working days to nights, in order to facilitate the constant care Howard requires.
Joyce is a woman of faith and a giver. During these months of attending to Howard, she has become a Chaplain, started a food deployment ministry for residents without addresses (The GO Project), served as a leader in several ministries including Sisters In Purpose (teaching others to find their purpose), Seeking God Club (prayer), and as a Worship Leader for Oasis Christian Centre, all while working nights as an essential hospital worker in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her steadfast prayers, faith, relentless worship and obedience have enabled her to trust God for Howard's healing, provision for her family and strength to defy the challenges they face, knowing God has the final say.
After a month in the hospital, Howard was discharged this past Saturday. His condition and chances of survival were bleak, but God worked a miracle and he was able once again to return home. Now, in addition to wound care, a restricted diet, multiple and varying pill regimens, and round the clock supervision, he is also required to be on dialysis several times per week. Unfortunately, Howard's health quickly declined again and took another turn for the worse. Howard was readmitted to the hospital last night (June 29th) with dialysis related complications.
Medical insurance is limited and financial resources are diminishing. Yet, knowing that Howard's life hangs in the balance, once again, prayerfully and by faith, Joyce has made yet another difficult decision to take a leave of absence from work to care for Howard and their children.
How you can help:
We know that God is a healer and a provider. He has Howard, Joyce and the kids in the palm of His hand and He will supply all of their needs. (Philippians 4: 19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.)
We are asking, if God lays it on your heart to support them through prayer, financial resources or gifts, to allow Him to do so.
The proceeds of this Gofundme will go directly to Joyce Johnson, for growing medical and cost of living expenses, until she is able to return to work.
Thank you in advance for your gift and may God return it back to you, just as we believe He is doing for our sister Joyce even now, through you. No gift is too small. (Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.)
Above all, we ask you to believe God for healing for Howard Johnson and pray for the Johnson Family.
Love and God bless,
Erica Scala, Maria Merida, Yatisha Forde
