I’m launching this fundraiser for a charity that quite literally helped save my son’s life.

Without the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, we wouldn’t be preparing to celebrate Jackson’s 2nd birthday in march.

Jackson came into this world tiny, perfect, and completely unaware of the battle he was about to face. As his mum, nothing prepares you for hearing that your baby needs heart surgery. Nothing prepares you for watching doctors and nurses take your child through theatre doors. Nothing prepares you for the machines, the wires, the waiting, and the fear that sits in your chest every second.

I remember standing beside his hospital cot, listening to the beeping monitors, praying for just one more stable reading. I remember feeling helpless. I remember promising him that if he got through it, I would never take a single day for granted again.

And he did get through it.

Because of the surgeons. Because of the nurses. Because of the equipment. Because of the support. And because charities like the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund make sure hospitals have what they need to give children like Jackson a fighting chance.

They fund vital equipment. They support families during the most traumatic time of their lives. They help create environments where children can heal. They are there in the background, making survival possible.

This fundraiser is our way of giving back.

Every donation goes towards helping another baby, another family, another mum standing beside a hospital bed praying for a miracle.
