Give Zoey the chance she deserves!

This is my grand-doggy Zoey & I am proudly her Gemma- she made me a Gemma!

This sweet girl is so very special and loved beyond measure by me, her papa jim, her mom Amber and her sisters Mia & Ellie.

She is so smart, intuitive, loyal, protective, loving, confident, nurturing, outgoing and vibrant. She’s a boss bitch for sure lol. She also is stubborn and fearless (except for balloons and ice cubes) and has a lot of sass! She loveeees to eat! She is always by your side, alert, “at attention” on duty, watching everything from the start to the end of our day. If she were human, she’d be the best little helper ever! She is a queen in our castle and the only one I’ll share that title with.

Anyone who’s has met Zoey; family, friends, passersby at the pet store or on a walk, her groomers or vet, will comment on her puppy nature and spunky social personality. Other pets and children despite their size fall prey to the spell this sweetheart has- she loves them all and you’d know this by the wiggle of her little nubby aka tail. Her nicknames include nubby, nub, Zo Zo and she answers to them all.

You can’t help but smile and have all the feels for this love bug when making her acquaintance. And just try coming to the house, or should I say just try to leave the house! She won’t have it lol, she wants everyone who comes to stay here with us! She loves people, going bye bye, getting coffee “pup cup” walks, laying on the deck and in the sun, laying in the bay window, her lion, mud mask, hot dog toy, her potato chips (all the crinkle toys) her puzzles, push buttons to ask for treats/snackies, massage eeee, girafeee, Christmas, ice cream, snackies, opening presents and her pillows.

Personally, Zoey also has the most comforting, nurturing emotional support qualities of any pet I’ve known and loved during the course of my life. But when I was in my darkest time after a cancer diagnosis, treatments and very challenging medical issues and side effects from those treatments which all took a toll on me, Zoey would not leave my side. Somehow she knew. When she would see me crying or laid up, “off” from my baseline- she would come and lick my face dry and stand by me literally or cuddle next to me while I rest. She was pivotal in my journey & recovery and that will stay with me until my last breath.

She came to us during a medically challenging moment for my daughter, who also had her own emotional & physical challenges. Puppy Zoey to the rescue! Lively little pup kept us on our toes, and shined the brightest light into our lives! She’s had literally breathed life & purpose back into us!

Zoey isn’t just a dog; she’s a companion who fills our lives with adventure, love and sooooo much happiness. She’s family. And we don’t quit on family!

Zoey, recently in preparation for teeth cleaning, was inadvertentlyfound to have a tumor on her adrenal gland. Further evaluation has led the surgeon to believe that it’s malignant.

The next step is a CAT scan and then of course, the surgery which will be astronomical in cost. The surgeon says the mortality rate is low for the procedure despite the extremely vascular area the tumor lay in.

Without the surgery, we may have a year with her. She has too much life left in her. We can’t let this be how she leaves us. She so very much deserves a fighting chance! She deserves what she gives and has given to others and to live to her full potential!

Please, please, please !!!! I don’t like asking for anything monetary but this, this is everything as important as my own health! And it requires a village. If you support any cause on at all, please please please consider having this be your cause for 2026 ! Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference to help fund the diagnostics, surgery, recovery and chance for Zoey to live her best and full life.

Every shares also helps us to reach more people who could help and be a part of making a difference to give Zoey the time, chance and full life she deserves for her walks, massage eeeee (how we say it to her), for bye bye in Gemma or mommies car (and she knows the difference!) to see the duckies, go shopping, have her bull sticks, do puzzle etc . Let’s come together and give Zoey the chance she deserves! Please give whatever you can, like, comment, and share this post so that we can reach more people who might want to help us and more importantly Zoey. Our hearts are heavy to have to deal with yet another cancer dignosis requiring decisions that affect finances so profoundly but she has given to us so profoundly!

There’s so many pictures and I will try to add more, but I hope our story with Zoey gives you a snapshot of who she has been to our family and how she much she is sooo loved ♥️

Thank you soooo much from the bottom of our hearts for any donation you can spare, prayers & support! Please know this means more to our family than words could express!!! ❤️
