My name is Yahaira. I am a single mom of 4 children. In 2020, I moved to Florida to get away from a domestic violence relationship. I wanted to have a fresh start for me and my little family.

For 10 years now, I have suffered from hyperthyroidism. In the last few months, my health has declined, and it has become even harder for me to take care of my children, although I do my best. As a result, and due to the terrible conditions at my job, I regretfully had to quit at the end of October. I passed out at work and almost died. It has been difficult to find a job that is easy on my body and that won’t also get in the way of taking care of one of my daughters who is 4 years old and nonverbal.

Funds have been very hard to manage. We have only gotten by because of my 20-year-old daughter who has a full-time job, but we could not afford to live in our home anymore and got evicted. We have nowhere to go as of right now.

We applied to rent a home that is in our budget, but we are still short the deposit and first month of rent. My heart is heavy as I think of my children not having a home to live in, especially during Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year.

We have really exhausted our resources, and with humble hearts, are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain. Funds raised will go towards the deposit and first month of rent.

This has been a devastating time and a test to my faith, but I trust in God that he has a plan and his hand is over our situation.
