If you know me, you know that one of my oldest and best friends, Shilo, has been in my life since we were 7 years old. She’s not just a friend—she’s family. Shilo and her husband, Austin, are two of the kindest, most loving, hardworking, and humble people you’ll ever meet. Together, they have three kids: Ollie, Mac, and their youngest, Wren, who’s 2 years old.

Wren is one of the sweetest, most adorable little girls I’ve ever met. She is quite literally an angel here on earth—she has a way of impacting everyone she meets and bringing out the beauty and joy in everyone. She’s so bright and full of personality, but she’s also navigating a very challenging road. When she was born, she was diagnosed with 22q13.1q13.31 duplication, an extremely rare developmental condition that affects nearly every aspect of her life.

Right now, Wren is doing everything she can to overcome these challenges, but she needs constant therapy to help her grow and thrive. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the therapies she needs, and because of her specific diagnosis, she isn’t eligible for Medicaid either. This leaves Shilo and Austin to pay for everything out of pocket—and the costs are staggering

For example, just five weeks of intensive physical therapy at Climb in Nashville, TN, costs $12,000. On top of that, they’ll need another $3,000–$5,000 for housing while they’re there. And that’s just the start. Wren’s therapy is ongoing:

• Speech therapy: $150 per session

• Feeding therapy: $150 per 30-minute session. Wren still can’t eat solid foods without her feeding tube, so this is crucial.

The truth is, this is an enormous financial burden for any family. Shilo and Austin are doing everything they can, but they can’t do it alone. They’re not the type to ask for help, which is why I’m stepping in ❤️
