Meet Winslow - in early December, Winslow was found wandering around New Orleans; he was in-tact, severely emaciated, had a double eye infection, double ear infection, and skin infection. It was also discovered that he was heartworm positive and had a grade 3 heart murmur. He was brought to the LASPCA but because of his condition, was placed on the euthanasia list. On December 2nd, Winslow came into my care as a foster through the LASPCA where he has thrived. He has completed his initial course of doxycycline for heart worms, his eyes and ears are clear, his skin is improving, and he has continued to gain weight - in just one month, he's an entirely different dog.
Unfortunately, because of his heart murmur and their lack of resources, the SPCA will not neuter him and will not treat his heart worms, removing him from the possibility of adoption through their program.
In order to get Winslow into a healthier, happier and adoptable condition, I will be adopting him through SPCA and paying for treatment out of pocket. This is a hefty financial burden, but I believe Winslow is worth the investment. He deserves a better life!
Winslow needs a heart worm work up, and potentially an EKG because of the murmur, prior to getting treatment, ongoing vet care through treatment and eventually he will need to be neutered. Once these things have been completed & he’s healthy, he’ll be available for adoption through a different organization.
Winslow deserves so much more than he has gotten thus far in his short life. Together, we can give him what he deserves. Thank you in advance for helping either by giving or by spreading his story!
All money raised will go to Winslow's veterinary care & costs, and recovery. So far we’ve spent $1,810.36 and we will continue to invest the funds raised into his care.
Anything left over will be donated to Take Paws Rescue.
