Help Give Wayne Barnes the Send Off He Deserves

Time: Service starts at 9.40am

Venue: South Essex Crematorium, Ockendon Road Upminster RM14 2UY (Upminster Crem)

We haven’t been able to secure a wake venue as it’ll be so early in the day, however if we can find somewhere you’ll be informed on the day. (Will be local to the crem)

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Wayne Barnes (affectionally known as 'Bonk' to some) who tragically and unexpectedly passed away on 7th October 2025 at Basildon Hospital. Wayne contracted sepsis after cutting his leg.

As many of you will know, Wayne’s parents, Marie and Alan, and his younger brother Carl are no longer with us, and his older brother Damien isn't able to arrange a funeral. We are therefore setting up this fundraiser to give Wayne the dignified funeral he deserves.

Any contribution—no matter how small—will go directly towards funeral costs and arrangements to celebrate Wayne’s life and say our final goodbyes.

We will update this fundraiser & Facebook with a funeral date & information once this has been arranged.
