I am asking for your support to help raise funds for my cousin Veronica Gaxiola Silva, who is 51. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years ago. Both of her breasts were removed, and she tried to return to her normal daily life. Chemotherapy was not an option due to the allergic reaction it caused her. A few months ago, she received the wonderful news that she was cancer-free. She, along with her family and friends, were incredibly grateful to God and to life for this next opportunity.

Unfortunately, the happiness didn’t last long. She decided to get more tests done, listening to her body, and today she has been diagnosed with breast cancer again—this time in her lungs, lymph nodes, and in the bones of her back and hips.

Because chemotherapy still isn’t an option, she is now hoping to receive a third medical opinion in Mexico, where there may be alternative treatments available. Veronica hasn’t been able to work in over two years. She’s a mother, a sister, a friend—and right now, she feels like a burden on her children, who are doing everything they can to hold things together emotionally and financially.

Estoy pidiendo su apoyo para ayudar a recaudar fondos para mi prima Veronica Gaxiola Silva, de 51 años. Hace un par de años, fue diagnosticada por primera vez con cáncer de mama. Le removieron ambos senos, y trató de volver a su vida diaria normal. La quimioterapia no fue una opción debido a una reacción alérgica que le causó.

Hace unos meses, recibió la maravillosa noticia de que estaba libre de cáncer. Ella, junto con su familia y amigos, estaba increíblemente agradecida con Dios y con la vida por esta nueva oportunidad.

Desafortunadamente, la felicidad no duró mucho. Decidió hacerse más estudios, escuchando a su cuerpo, y hoy ha sido diagnosticada nuevamente con cáncer de mama, esta vez en los pulmones, los ganglios linfáticos y los huesos de la espalda y la cadera.

Como la quimioterapia no es una opción, ahora Verónica tiene la esperanza de recibir una tercera opinión médica en México, donde podrían estar disponibles tratamientos alternativos. Verónica no ha podido trabajar por más de dos años. Es madre, hermana, amiga… y en este momento se siente como una carga para sus hijos, quienes están haciendo todo lo posible por mantenerse fuertes tanto emocional como económicamente.
