Hello, my name is Torrey. My daughter and I are struggling. It’s been a long journey to get to where we are right now, and we’re very far from where we need to be. I’m just a single father trying to raise my daughter on my own, and right now we’re currently homeless. I got released from incarceration almost 2 years ago, and I got my daughter back. I’ve been just trying to turn my life around and do better for my children and for myself. Life has always been hard and difficult at times, and right now we’re just struggling. I’m trying to work my butt off to get us into a place of our own, but life has hit us with a lot of problems. I currently have a bad back that requires extensive surgery, and unfortunately, insurance won’t cover it. When you’re trying to rebuild your life from scratch and starting over at my age, it’s a lot more difficult than I would’ve imagined. I’m trying to just do what I can to raise my little girl and give her the life that she deserves. Honestly, I don’t care what happens to me, but she deserves better, and I’m trying my hardest to get there, but it seems life has other plans. Like I said, right now we’re currently homeless, staying at a shelter, just trying to get into a place, so any help would be greatly appreciated. We are doing okay except for that, and at least I have her. She’s doing exceptional in school and she’s happy. She doesn’t really understand that we’re in a pretty rough spot, but we’re doing what we can and just trying to enjoy our moments together. I’m so grateful and blessed that I have her. It’s hard when it’s just me and her, and I’m still working and doing construction with a bad back, pushing my body to the limit, but it’s what I gotta do so that we can survive. But right now, it just isn’t enough. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get caught up financially and be able to afford a place right now with rent and the cost of living being so expensive. Honestly, we just need the help. Once I’m able to secure a place, our life should turn around for the better. So thank you all, and if anyone’s even able to donate anything at all, it all helps. I really hate to ask, especially this way. It’s really hard to swallow one’s pride and ask for help, but we really need it. Making my daughter happy and making sure that she’s healthy and has a stable environment so that she can grow and flourish is all I’m trying to do. I just want my little girl to have a good and happy childhood and not have to worry about our current struggles. I just wanna give her everything that she deserves. Thank you all for listening to my story, and God bless.
