If you've ever had the privilege of knowing a Goble, you know that they are the most kind, fair, generous people you've ever met. Their lives are marked by love. And that love usually translates into service to others-top of the list being family and community. Our dad, the oldest son of the late Bill and Carole, is no exception to that rule. Having spent most of his life in Burnet, Texas, there aren't many in our community who don't know and love him.
While he may not hold fancy titles at this point in his life, his most valued roles are that of HUSBAND to Dianna, FATHER to Sarah and Andis, and PAPAW or "POP" to Andon, Drake, Angela, Kate, Makenzy, Makayla and his namesake, William Paxton.
Almost a year ago, we received the most terrible news when he was diagnosed with aggressive B-cell Lymphoma. While shocking and unexpected, we rallied as a faith-filled family and praised God for the miracle of healing that we knew was in his future. The journey hasn't been without setbacks and challenges, but we are so proud to say that the aggressive chemo treatments have worked and at the end of this week he will begin 3 weeks of stem cell treatment. While we feel like he is in a good place, this treatment will literally usher him right up to death's door to hopefully obliterate any remaining cancer cells and then build him back up, slowly over the next year.
While we are so thankful that he has arrived at this juncture, the journey has taken it's toll on him and Dianna-not only emotionally and physically, but financially as well. Because of COVID, Dianna was unable to continue her full time work as a salon owner and hairstylist.
We don't want them to be worried or concerned about ANYTHING other than his healing and we don't want them to have to live apart during this time either.
