Dear Family and Friends,
This 2023-2024 season brings an incredible opportunity for our SFGlens U17 07B MLS NEXT soccer team - to compete against top-notch Major League Soccer (MLS) Clubs across the country! These team travel events will provide our dedicated players, from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, opportunities to shine in front of college recruiters and professional soccer club scouts.
Our team needs your support to overcome the financial challenges of travel expenses.
Why do we need your help?
- Showcase Opportunities: Our team is not just competing; they are showcasing their skills in the most competitive soccer stages in the nation. These high-profile matches provide a platform for our players to secure scholarships and take significant steps toward a brighter future through college education, and potentially playing for professional soccer clubs.
- Building Dreams: Our athletes are more than just passionate about soccer; they are exceptional players and high-achieving students in high school. Additionally, they give back to our community by volunteering at soccer clinics around the City, inspiring the next generation of players; and taking leads in other fundraising efforts for the team. With your support, you are investing in their future and helping these young athletes reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
- Travel Costs: Traveling to compete against MLS Clubs and participate in college showcase tournaments is a demanding and an expensive endeavor. On average, it costs approximately $6,000 per player to take part in and travel for the entire season. From transportation, to accommodation and food expenses, every dollar you contribute will help lower our team cost. This season, they are traveling to Surf College Cup in San Diego; MLS Next Fest in Phoenix; MLS games in Salt Lake City, Portland, and Vancouver; MLS Flex in Maryland and MLS Showcase in Texas.
What can your donation achieve?
- $30-$50: Helps cover the cost of meals for a day for a player.
- $100-$200: Supports lodging expenses for a player per away game/tournament
- $300-$500: Contributes to transportation expenses (airfare & team vans) for one player per away game/tournament
- $1000: Supports a player for an away game/tournament
- $5000-$6000: Covers the entire travel expenses for a player for the entire season.
