The Give to JTL Fund allows you to support Justice Through Literacy’s work with a gift of as little as $10. Unlike our Sponsor a Child program, where donations are connected to a specific child’s education, gifts to this fund help JTL meet needs across our work—from supplementing a child’s education and running outreach programs to supporting our staff, strengthening partnerships, and covering the day-to-day needs that make our programs possible.

At Justice Through Literacy (JTL), we believe that a child’s ability to access a quality education should not depend on whether their family can afford it. We work with children in underserved communities in Nigeria through free educational programs, scholarships, mentorship, and continued support.

Since launching our work, more than 40 children have participated in our free summer preparation camps, and 14 children have received scholarships to attend elementary school. Through these programs, we have seen children strengthen foundational skills, grow in confidence, and gain opportunities to begin or continue their education.

Our most recent program, the MathLove camp, brought children together to strengthen their mathematics skills and confidence as learners. Some participants had never attended school, while others needed additional academic or financial support. Throughout the camp, we saw children become more willing to participate, grasp concepts they previously struggled with, and grow in their excitement about learning.

But our work does not end when a camp ends.

Children may need help beginning or continuing school. Our programs require teachers and staff to make them possible. Reaching new communities requires outreach and partnerships. These are areas where your donations to this fund come in /tighten the previous sentence

The Give to JTL fund gives JTL the flexibility to direct resources toward needs across our work as they arise. Whether you give $10, $25, $50, or more, your contribution helps us continue creating opportunities for children to learn and access education.

JTL ensures that 100% of funds received are used for their stated purpose. When funds are used toward a child’s tuition, payments are made directly by JTL to the relevant school.
