Give Theodosia a Chance at Recovery
Donation protected
Our family adopted Theodosia from the APL in April 2016. She and her ten puppies were rescued and delivered to our APL by a volunteer from an animal control in Tennessee. In her 8 years with us, she has been the sweetest dog ever.
To know Theodosia is to love her. And to know she loves you unconditionally right back.
On July 31st, she had 17 teeth removed that were causing gum infections as well as a respiratory infection. After surgery, she began improving right away and seemed pretty much herself again. On the morning of August 10th, Theo had mild seizures and was taken to the emergency vet, where she has been since. Within 12 hours, she had 3 grand mal seizures - and many cluster seizures in between. Right now, with the amount of seizures she’s had, the main theory is a brain tumor or encephalitis. UIUC has an MRI machine and adequate testing to determine what is wrong. However, all of the options and treatments are, of course, very costly. Our family is asking for assistance to get her the best care possible. Per the veterinarian’s recommendations, we wish to try this route before making any final decisions. Anything helps. Thank you.
