Give Theodore Time

Hi, I am Theodore’s mom. He’s had a rough start in life. He was found in a zipped duffel bag in the gutters of Detroit. He was covered in his own urine and feces. Due to this, he needed a Perineal Urethrostomy surgery, and with the amazing help from Ferndale Cat Shelter, they were able to raise money and give him his surgery. From that moment, we brought him home, and he immediately opened his heart to us. For a cat with a rough start to life, this boy had so much love in him. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and just wants to snuggle all the time. He enjoys playing with his brother, teasing his sister, relaxing in windows, and his tunnel. He plays with any catnip toy that is in the shape of food. This social butterfly will even come out shopping every now and then. I struggle with sleeping, and when he comes up to me in bed to snuggle, he puts me out immediately. Something about him is my medicine for my soul. He has now been diagnosed with cancer. He has a mass in his chest that is draining fluid into his chest, making it harder for him to breathe. This is something that cannot be operated on, so we have started chemo. This is the best chance he has to give him a little more time and not suffer. As his parents, we are going to do anything we can for him, even if we have to take a loan out, as his medical bills are going to add up fast. I don’t expect anything from this, but I’m hoping that there may be one or two people out there who have been touched by Theodore’s love and want to help him be comfortable during this process in his life.
