Hi everyone!

This is Theo, he’s 2 years old and the sweetest cat ever, I adopted him and his brother when they were babies a little over a year ago, he’s my whole world but unfortunately he’s in need of surgery. around a week ago I noticed him limping and refusing to walk nor put pressure on his back leg so I scheduled a vet appointment immediately. They offered to do a x-ray or send him home with pain medicine but an x-ray was a little out of my budget so I decided to give it a day to see how he was doing, I couldn’t bare to see my little one in pain so i got him an x-ray the next day, it turns out he did have a fractured in his hip and needs a surgery called Femoral Head Osteotomy where they remove the ball of his hip joint to relieve pain and improves his walking. i’m assuming he had hurt himself when he was play fighting with our other cat or he jumped off a table and landed wrong, ever since his injury he’s been acting so different, he sleeps under my bed scared of everything and everyone, he won’t interact with our other cat (which is his best friend) and he’s been sleeping a lot more then usual refusing to get up or walk. As his mom this hurts me a lot because he’s never acted this way and I know the changes in his mood are because he’s in pain. The doctor gave me an option on two different surgeries one costing 8k that was located in another vet clinic which is more advanced and one less advanced alternative costing around 4k both of these surgeries are extremely out of my budget. Im 18 years old working two jobs to be able to afford my bills and to keep up with his vet expenses ever since his injury, so this was very shocking.
