As many of you know, my life changed forever after I had a stroke on 10/26/13. It left me in a wheelchair with limited use of my left side, and I’ve relied solely on my right hand to move in a manual chair ever since. It’s slow, exhausting, and makes getting around—especially outdoors—very difficult.

On 4/30/25, I tried the Jazzy Carbon power chair and instantly knew it could change my life. It weighs only 40 lbs, folds up easily to fit in a car, and doesn’t require a special vehicle like heavier power chairs (some weigh over 400 lbs!). Most importantly, it gives me back freedom—the freedom to move when and where I want without waiting for help.

Imagine being able to:

Garden independently without getting stuck in the grass

Go up and down steep ramps safely on my own

Visit places like the Mall of America and explore all 500+ stores at my pace

Use public bathrooms (something rental scooters don’t allow)

Enjoy time with my son instead of watching from the porch

Unfortunately, insurance only covers power chairs for use inside the home—not for outdoor independence, which is what I truly need. That’s why I’m asking for your help to raise funds to purchase this chair.

Any donation helps, and if we exceed the goal, extra funds will go toward my credit card, since I’m on limited income and don’t work.
