Hi, my name is Nicole, and I'm raising funds for my brother Barry someone who means the world to our family.

Back in 2009, he was in a serious car accident that left him a paraplegic from the T9 down. since then, he's adapted to an entirely new way of life with strength, determination, and a sense of humor that still lights up every room he's in.

He hasn't had a new daily wheelchair or shower chair in over 12 years, and unfortunately, the effects of that are starting to show. His current wheelchair no longer fits his body correctly, which causes chronic back and neck pain, digestive issues, swelling of his lower extremities, and increases the risk of pressure sores because his chairs is so broken down he can't spend much time in it during the day making normal everyday tasks difficult. The outdated shower chair he uses is unstable and uncomfortable, making personal hygiene not only difficult, but sometimes even dangerous. these may seem like small things- but when your entire mobility and independence depend on just a few pieces of equipment, the wear and tear take a real toll on his health, confidence and daily routine.

We're hoping to raise enough to get him the proper equipment he deserves- something that will help him live more comfortably and safely.

My brother is especially close to his young niece, and he's a constant loving presence in our lives. He deserves to feel supported, mobile, and cared for- and we'd be so grateful for any help in making that possible.
