Help Bring My Children’s Books to Life for My 50th Birthday!
Hi everyone,
My name is Chinua Hawk, and I’d like to take you back for a moment — back to simpler times.
Do you remember those quiet evenings when someone you loved would read you a story? Maybe it was curled up on the couch with your parents, or tucked in bed while a grandparent’s voice carried you off to sleep. Maybe it was at school, when your teacher would read a book aloud, and the whole room seemed to fall still — just the sound of their voice and the magic of the story filling your mind.
Those moments are special. They shaped us. And they made us feel safe, loved, and connected.
That’s the kind of experience I want to create with my children’s books — Mr. Brumley’s Winter’s Nap, Mrs. Whipley and Her Whistle, and several other stories I’ve written to inspire, comfort, and spark imagination in children. These books were created to remind kids — and maybe even grown-ups — that there’s still magic in the world. That imagination, kindness, and wonder are worth holding onto.
For my 50th birthday, I’m asking for something special: your help in turning these stories into audiobooks — so families everywhere can experience that same warmth and comfort we remember from our own childhoods.
Creating these audiobooks comes with costs — things like:
️ Paying a talented narrator to bring each character to life.
Studio time to ensure professional-quality recordings.
Sound design, mixing, and mastering to create an immersive listening experience.
Advertising to help these audiobooks find their way into homes, schools, and libraries.
I’m hoping to raise $8,500 to cover these costs and bring this dream to life.
If you’d like to support this project as a birthday gift to me, any amount would mean the world. More importantly, you’d be helping create those magical moments — those cozy, story-filled memories — for kids and families today.
And if you can’t donate, I completely understand. Sharing this campaign with others would be an incredible gift as well.
Thank you for believing in me, and for helping me share these stories with the world. With your help, I know we can create something truly special — something that feels like home.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Chinua Hawk
