Hi, I’m Dani. I’m a clinical psychologist based in Australia.

Ten years ago, while volunteering in Kenya, I met my dear friend Dennis. Over the years, we’ve stayed in touch, and I’ve witnessed his unwavering commitment to his family and to giving his children the best opportunities possible.

Dennis is a proud father of four beautiful children. He works tirelessly to provide for them, and despite many challenges, he has always prioritised their education. He believes it is the most important investment he can make in their future, giving them opportunities he never had himself.

Like any parent, Dennis dreams of a brighter future for his children. But in Kenya, public schools are overcrowded, with classrooms often holding more than 50 students to a single teacher. Wanting his children to truly learn and thrive, Dennis has been working hard to send them to a local private school, where they can receive the attention and education they deserve.

Unfortunately, the costs are overwhelming, and despite his efforts, he is struggling to keep up with school fees.

When I was in Kenya, I saw firsthand both the beauty and the limitations of charity support. Larger organisations often do incredible work, but donations can be diluted by administration costs, taxes, and the many layers involved in running such programs. This fundraiser is different: every dollar will go directly to Dennis’ children’s school fees, ensuring your kindness has an immediate and tangible impact.

Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to break the cycle of poverty. With the chance to study in a supportive environment, Dennis’ children will gain the knowledge and skills they need to create better opportunities for themselves and their community.

A good education means:

• Breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering children to rise above hardship.

• Creating opportunities and opening doors to jobs and careers that can support their family in the future.

• Strengthening communities – as educated children grow into adults who give back and inspire others.

It costs approximately $900 AUD per year to send one child to private school in Dennis’ community. With four children, the annual cost is about $3600 AUD.

• $75 covers one month of school for a child.

Our goal is to raise $3600 AUD to cover one full year of school fees for all four children. With school fees due at the start of the next term, your support now will make an immediate difference.

If we exceed this goal, all extra funds will go toward future school years, helping ensure long-term security in their education.
