We are the proud adoptive parents of Teddy the cockapoo who turned 10 a little while ago. We're both in our 40s and live in San Diego. Teddy has been a saving grace in both our lives and very unfortunately got a cancer diagnosis a few months ago (Anal sac adenocarcinomas with metastatic lymph nodes in the caudal part of his abdomen (sub-lumbar lymph nodes)). We took him to the vet because he had fleas and received the worst news ever that we were completely unprepared for in every way. Cutting this sweet guy up is out of the question, but there is this amazing targeted radiation procedure performed by an incredible doctor (Dr. Proulx) that could stop the growth of this cancer and possibly even decrease the tumor and lymph nodes and give Teddy and us more time together to live and enjoy each other's presence.

Teddy is the most amazing being we've both ever met. He is the most loving, gentle, kind, caring, sweet, calm, friendly, well-mannered, sensitive little dog we've ever had the pleasure to spend time with. He communicates without a word - just with his eyes. He patiently sits in a special pose that lets us know he needs to go for a walk. He gets super happy and jumps up and down (without uttering one word) next to the fridge to let us know he is hungry. He patiently, quietly looks at us to send us messages of what he needs, wants, or is up to. He is never annoying or bothersome. He only barks to greet people who are coming to the house or to let us know he's super duper happy. He has been our saving grace through all the trials and tribulations over the last few years, our constant and our best friend. His unwavering love and support truly makes him precious to us. He's not just a pet - he's the heart of our life. He patiently lets anyone passing by pet him and visibly brightens everyone's spirit and day with his friendly, sweet, calm, and loving demeanor.

He spends most of his time with the person that he intuitively knows really needs his special brand of love the most.

He is loyal and a true companion. His absolute favorite thing to do is to sit on the seat in the car and look out the window like a real passenger. He loves to see new things, smell new scents, explore all the bushes, and he loves to go up any staircase along the way - super funny and curious little guy!

He is also very shy and a bit scared when he sees other dogs - somehow he may not know how much of him is dog and how much is human :)

He deserves only the best, most fun, most joy, and our hearts are breaking that he has to go through this experience that is scary for him and for us.

We have already seen lots of providers, changed his diet completely, bought the required supplements, and even tried alternative treatments like ozone, rife machine, and energy healing to help him and have spent more than 7K in just 2 months (all the money we could afford). This is why we're putting this page together and asking for help to fund this radiation procedure (this is part of our application to the wonderful Face organization that sometimes helps pet owners but won't be able to fund the entire procedure). The procedure is quoted at a total of $8920.51 at the VCA California Veterinary Specialists - Carlsbad. A portion of this is for a CT scan and the rest is for the radiation procedures.

I have been working night and day on any and all possibilities and am super excited to share that we've been approved by Face Foundation who are able to contribute $2800 and 25% discount so I now just need to raise $3000 for Teddy so we can proceed with the treatment as soon as possible.

If we can receive any help, we would be absolutely grateful and appreciative and Teddy would be so happy to beat this thing and enjoy a few more years on this planet.
