My name is Taye Hastings. I’m 21, and I have stage 4 colon cancer. After 2 months of Chemotherapy, I learned that my cancer type is resistant, and the treatment that could give me a real chance costs more than my family could ever pay on our own. So I’m asking for your help.

On June 29, 2026, at 20 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer. It started in my colon and had already spread to my stomach, lungs, liver, kidneys, and a major lymph node. Even my doctors have said how rare and confusing this is at my age. I had no warning signs, nothing that made me think something was wrong, until it was already at its worst. In a matter of moments, my whole world changed.

Soon after, I had surgery to bypass a blockage in my intestines so my body could function again. Once I recovered, I started chemotherapy. My doctors were honest with me: without treatment, I had about three months. With it, there was hope for more time, but they weren’t optimistic it would be more than two years.
I’ve now been through six rounds of chemo and more hospital visits than I can count. This month, my oncology team told me my cancer is resistant to chemotherapy, and they’re not sure how to proceed.

I won’t pretend I’ve been strong every day. I’ve lost 70 pounds. The side effects got so bad that holding a fork or touching a door handle was painful and impossible. I’ve spent weeks in bed. I lost my job, and I couldn’t go back for my final year of university. There were days I had no hope left to hold on to.

But I’m 21. I haven’t finished school. I haven’t started my career. There are places I haven’t seen and memories I haven’t made yet. I’m not ready to let that go.

So I started searching for other options and found Envita Medical Centers in Arizona, which offers highly personalized diagnostics and oncology care specifically for colon cancer. I know there are no guarantees. But it’s a real chance, and I want to take it.

What we need:
The initial treatment costs USD $289,000. Which we need by October 31 to secure my treatment, begin initial testing, and support with travel and accommodations.

Please share this page. Post it to your story, drop it in your group chats, send it to your family.

One of my favourite Bible verses that I’ve leaned on throughout this fight is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story. I hope the next time you hear from me, I’ll have better news to share.

A note from Taye’s family and organizer; Taye’s sister, Mya. I’m managing this fundraiser for my little brother. Every dollar goes directly to Taye’s treatment and the costs that come with it:

Treatment program: USD $289,000
Travel and accommodation in Arizona: USD $25,000
Medications and follow-up care: USD $60,000-80,000

We’ll pay Envita directly and post regular updates here so you can see exactly where your support goes.

Any funds raised above this amount will go toward Taye’s ongoing care.

Thank you for standing with our family.
