I'm asking for you to help support my best friend, Tara A.
Over two years ago, Tara was diagnosed with Stage 3 bilateral breast cancer—a diagnosis that would turn anyone’s world upside down. She faced it with extraordinary courage and grace, undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy, and reconstruction. Tara’s journey hasn’t been easy. She’s endured serious complications along the way, including surgical infections that prolonged her recovery.
But in true Tara fashion, she showed incredible resilience and strength—and after so much hardship, she finally entered remission.
Recently, Tara began experiencing vision issues. An emergency MRI revealed a mass in her brain, and now she’s preparing for yet another difficult chapter: additional testing, consultations with a neurosurgeon, likely brain surgery, and more radiation.
As you can imagine, the emotional and physical toll of all this is immense. Tara is currently working full-time, but the mounting out-of-pocket medical expenses—on top of the prospect of going on medical leave with reduced income—are creating an unsustainable financial burden.
Despite all of this, Tara’s instinct has been to keep pushing forward, trying to carry the full weight of this burden herself. That’s just who she is—fiercely independent, endlessly generous, and always thinking of others first. But what Tara truly needs right now is the space to rest, to heal, and to focus fully on the care her body needs.
We’ve set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial strain of treatment, cover necessary living expenses while Tara is on leave, and give her the peace of mind to focus fully on her health.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to support Tara through this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution—no matter the size—makes a meaningful difference. And if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this campaign with your
network would mean the world.
I’ll be developing another platform to provide updates to keep everyone in the loop on Tara’s progress.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for lifting Tara up with your kindness and love.
Warmly,
Crystal Baker
