UPDATE: We realized it may help to share a clearer picture of what’s going on with Otis and what his future looks like with—and without—surgery.

Otis has nasopharyngeal/inflammatory ear polyps, benign growths that form deep in the middle ear and throat. They aren’t cancerous, but they do cause chronic infections, painful pressure, noisy breathing, balance issues, and difficulty swallowing. Without surgery, these polyps continue to grow, making everyday life increasingly uncomfortable for him.

With surgery, his prognosis is excellent. Most cats recover fully and go on to live long, comfortable, happy lives. This procedure would finally give Otis the relief he’s been waiting for.
