This is Sunny, an Amazon parrot who was recently discovered in heartbreaking conditions after being forgotten in a home. By the time he was found, he had already endured years of neglect—but his spirit is strong, and at DinoSoar Rescue, we believe every bird deserves a second chance.

After urgent veterinary care, we learned just how much this little old man has been through. Sunny has severe scoliosis, which leaves one leg shorter and less functional, but he’s adapted and learned to get around with confidence. He also had a painful, infected mass in the roof of his mouth, which was removed, revealing a lesion that has been biopsied and is pending results. Most pressing of all, Sunny has a large abdominal mass that requires surgical removal—this is the procedure we are fundraising for today.

On top of this, Sunny was found with a broken keel bone that will heal naturally, as well as painful calcifications in the soles of his feet from years without proper perching. These will heal with care, new perches, and a little TLC. He’s also underweight, but with the pain in his mouth relieved and his beak beautifully trimmed, Sunny is already showing the will to thrive again.

Some may look at Sunny and see a lost cause. But here at DinoSoar Rescue, we see resilience, hope, and a soul that deserves love. We believe no bird should be overlooked or forgotten simply because their medical care comes with a cost.
