Stumpy Recovery Fund

Anyone that knows us, knows that we don’t like asking for help, especially when it come to finances. We know times are tough and we made the choice to pay for this surgery for him, but we appreciate any help we receive.

On Sunday, June 1, Stumps came in from outside and suddenly couldn’t walk and was dragging his hind leg. Throughout the day, he seemed to lose feeling in both his hind legs, so around 6pm, we took him to the emergency vet in Poulsbo. They told us that we need to see a neurologist and we were directed to the emergency vet in Gig Harbor. We drove there and were told that their neurologist wouldn’t be in until Tuesday, so we drove to the emergency vet in Tacoma. They took a look at him there and advised us to stay the night in a hotel and bring him back in the morning to see the neurologist. He had an MRI and they found a large blood clot and slipped discs in his spine. He promptly underwent surgery (Left Hemilaminectomy T11-T13) and the next morning he had some feeling back in his hind legs! He’s now at home resting with his family and we should know within the next couple of days if he’ll eventually be able to walk again!

The path in front of Stumps is a long and difficult one, but we’re going to do EVERYTHING we can to make sure that our precious boy has the best life we can give him. We appreciate everyone who has already donated to the Stumpy Recovery, and hope you can keep Stumps in your thoughts and heart.
