Hi! Woof
My name is Stitch—yes, like Stitch from Disney. My mommy says she named me that because of my big ears and my wonderfully unique look. They like to joke that I’m the “Mick Jagger of dogs”—a little quirky, a little iconic, and completely unforgettable.
I love chasing balls, playing with my cat, digging in the sand, and going on car rides to my favorite drive-thru (I never forget the French fries—with extra sauce, please). I’ll admit it—I’m a very loved and very spoiled pup.
Recently, though, something very sad happened. My mommies took me to the vet, and we learned that I have degenerative myelopathy. They explained it’s similar to ALS in humans. I’m now at the stage where I can no longer use my back legs. They’re still there, but I can’t control them. It feels strange, and it’s been hard not being able to walk beside my mommies or chase my cat like I used to.
But here’s the hopeful part of my story. There’s a special wheelchair made just for dogs like me. It’s a lightweight set of wheels that straps comfortably to my body and supports my back legs, giving me the freedom to move, play, and explore again. With it, I can return to the activities that make my tail wag and my heart happy.
The cost of a properly fitted canine wheelchair is more than my family can manage on their own, and that’s why I’m asking for your help. Your support—no matter the amount—will go directly toward giving me mobility, independence, and a better quality of life.
All dogs are puppies at heart. We all deserve to feel the grass beneath us, the wind in our ears, and the joy of running toward the people we love.
Thank you for reading my story and for helping make this little pup’s dream come true. I promise to pay it forward with tail wags, happy zoomies (on wheels!), and lots of gratitude.
