Give Stephen Dwayne Thomas a Dignified Farewell
Donation protected
It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating and senseless loss of our beloved father and grandfather, Stephen Dwayne Thomas. At just 65 years old, he was brutally murdered in his own home. While asleep on his couch, an intruder entered and attacked him in an unthinkable act of violence. The details are heartbreaking and have left our entire family in shock and grief.
As we work to process this tragedy, we are now facing another difficult challenge: paying for his funeral. Stephen had a life insurance policy, that was just enough to cover the majority of the funeral and burial costs-but we recently learned — just days before the scheduled service — that because the policy is less than two years old, and pending via 2 year contestability -it will not cover the funeral expenses at this time. This happens with any life insurance company if a person passes within 2 years of getting it, it’s just an unfortunate formality. It could take up to a year before the process is completed there is a chance it would not pay at all.
We had already made arrangements and set the date, unaware that the policy would be delayed up to a year or denied& with a total cost of $14,000, we are struggling to come up with the funds needed to give him the dignified farewell he deserves.
We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone moved by Stephen’s story to help us lay him to rest. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference and will go directly toward his funeral expenses.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Your support, prayers, and kind words mean the world to us in this painful time.
Thank you for standing with us and helping honor the memory of Stephen Dwayne Thomas.
With love and gratitude,
