Hello, my name is Masumi and I am a little bowl of fruit candy from Rochester, NY. I'm writing today because I love my friend Jai D'Andrea and YOU probably love them too! Jai is in a time of need and I hope that you can help. Jai is a treasure to their friends and community alike. We've all seen it: the bag packed with snacks for everyone, an Advil every time you need one, decorations ready to go for any event, cooking massive amounts of delicious food, saving the random stranger who's passing out at a party, all action and solutions when everyone else stands around staring. Jai always has hugs and dad jokes and astute observations, and their wit draws people into conversations every time. They are the kind of person who includes everyone and makes everyone feel loved. As a long-time RN, they have saved lives, cared for patients, and helped to coach new nurses entering the field. Jai is always ready to drop some medical knowledge when you ask about that weird rash or mysterious ache, always patient and kind and ready to share.

The rare people like Jai, who give the most, are often the ones who receive the least amount of help and who have a hard time asking for it. Since summer, they have been hit with the loss of their vehicle, an upcoming move, and now a medical situation. Having been admitted into the hospital over the last week, they have endured pain and uncertainty as symptoms got worse and more procedures were required. They are starting to mend now, but are still in the hospital. As you can imagine, a week or more without working can be disastrous to a person's finances. I am hoping that we can all join together to contribute to help pay for rent, getting a vehicle, and paying bills. Let's show Jai how much Buffalo and Rochester loves them!!
