Meet Sid & Diego
While reporting my stolen wallet at the police station three weeks ago, I met two terrified chihuahuas—Sid (female) and Diego (male)—who were about to be handed over to the pound. At over ten years old, they’d been surrendered by their owner and were in urgent need of love and medical care. I couldn’t walk away, so I took them home.
Despite their age and health issues, Sid and Diego are full of life. They’re not your typical barky chihuahuas—they're sweet, gentle cuddlers who love being around people, and everyone who meets them falls in love instantly. Most of all, they are inseparable, bringing each other comfort and warmth through everything they’ve been through.
Why We Need Your Help
Since rescuing them, Sid and Diego have faced serious health challenges. Just today, Sid endured a painful ER visit—sedation and emergency surgery to drain an infected anal gland—totaling over $1,200. Both dogs suffer from rotten, painful teeth that need full extraction (estimated at $2,500 per dog), ongoing joint medicine, and professional training and pet-sitting to help them adjust and learn house and pad manners.
Between current vet bills, dental surgeries, medications, and care services, I’m aiming to raise $15,000 to give Sid and Diego the happy, healthy golden years they deserve.
Every donation—no matter how small—brings them closer to relief from pain and a comfortable life in a forever home. Thank you for your kindness and support!
