Give Selisha a Fighting Chance at Life

On Sunday, 4th August, our aunt, Selisha Hosein, suffered a massive heart attack and was rushed to the public hospital. As a result of prior underlying complications with her health, she had to be transferred to the Southern Medical Clinic (SMC) in Trinidad and Tobago, as the life-saving emergency treatment she required could not be administered in the public hospital.

Her condition took a turn for the worse and quickly became complicated, which landed her in the High-Dependency Unit at SMC. She spent 11 days there until she stabilized and has since been admitted to the Cardiology Ward to manage her complications.

Due to the severe damage to her heart, doctors have advised that she requires a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (triple bypass) to give her a fighting chance to continue being the ray of light in all our lives. Her journey to recovery is long, but we're in it for the long haul.

Currently, our family is going through the turmoil of the emotional impact of the severity of her condition, compounded by the unforeseen financial burden of medical bills, rehabilitation and prolonged recovery.

Our aunt has always been the one to show up for any of us, even for complete strangers, as her kindness and compassion know no bounds. We're willing to do whatever it takes to give her that fighting chance, and that's why we're making this humble appeal to help us save a golden heart. We can't wait until all this is just a memory.
