Those that know me, understand that I am very passionate about cats. I love all animals and will do anything I can for them, but cats do hold a very special spot in my heart. I have not kept count on how many I have helped over the years, but there have been many. I have never asked for any financial help and had planned to never ask. Scrappy needs proper care ASAP, and for his sake I will reach out and hope that those who know him in our community will offer a small donation toward giving him the life he deserves. If this reaches others outside of our community, then that is amazing.
Now, some back story.
I have been trying to trap Scrappy for at least a year and a half. Those in my neighborhood say they had been trying for several years before that. He is one smart kitty and would never go into the trap. I borrowed a drop trap and on 6-12-25, I got him. I couldn't believe it. It took months of creating a feeding schedule with him as well as a sense of safety in our presence. I got him into a clinic on 6-16-25 where they neutered him, evaluated him, and gave him some medications. What they found warrants several more procedures.
He has gingivitis and is missing many of his teeth, the teeth he has are cracked. He has a cyst on the base of his tail, infected torn up ears, and lice with skin infections.
These are just the things that they found during a quick exam. I want to get him properly treated. He has already shown me that there is a sweet, deserving guy under all of that dirt and scars. He has allowed me to touch him and has graduated to no longer being in a cage. He has a room all to himself and I am 100% invested in his recovery.
Please, any amount puts us one dollar closer to getting him the care he needs. Let's show this guy the love he should have always had!
