Help Savannah Rose Walk Pain-Free Again

Hi, my name is Ashley, and I’m asking for help for my best friend, Savannah Rose.

Savannah isn’t “just a dog.” She is my constant, my comfort, and the reason I kept going during some of the hardest years of my life.

A little background -
Savannah was born on July 19, 2016, after her mom was rescued while pregnant by Hands, Paws + Hearts Rescue. I adopted Savannah on November 2, 2016 during one of the darkest chapters of my life. Just months earlier, I had undergone my first major spinal fusion surgery. I went from being an active, outgoing person with a brand-new degree in Kinesiology, ready to enter the world of health and wellness, to someone confined to my home, in constant pain, and deeply depressed.

When I met Savannah, she ran up to me, gave me a kiss, and laid down at my feet. That moment changed my life.

From day one, Savannah helped pull me out of isolation. She gave me a reason to get out of bed, to step outside, and to smile again. Over the years, she has been by my side through four major back surgeries, years of recovery, chronic pain, and even the isolation of the pandemic. When I couldn’t move, she stayed with me. When I was hurting, she rested her head on me. When I was sad, she kissed my face until I laughed.

I truly don’t believe I would be here today without her.
Savannah Rose's Story -
In late 2024, Savannah tore her left CCL, requiring a TPLO surgery. Thanks to an incredible surgeon, Savannah recovered beautifully. That surgery cost over $7,000, which I am still paying off NOW. Despite the long and difficult recovery, Savannah passed every milestone and returned to her happy, adventurous self. We finally started living again beach days (her favorite place on earth), easy hikes, road trips, and even going to work with me where she brought comfort and smiles to everyone she met.

But earlier this year, I noticed Savannah limping again — this time on her right leg.

I knew what it meant.

Sadly, it has now been confirmed that Savannah has torn the CCL in her right knee, and this injury is more involved. In addition to the ligament tear, she has also torn her meniscus, making surgery necessary to restore her comfort and mobility.

Savannah is scheduled to undergo a TPLO surgery on her right knee at the end of January, and the total cost for surgery and related care is $5,500 or more.

I’ve done everything I can to manage her pain rest, restricted activity, supplements, medications but she’s using her leg less and less each week. Watching her struggle breaks my heart. She’s still happy, loving, and full of life, but she’s in pain, and surgery is the only way to give her a chance to walk comfortably again.

Financially, I am struggling. Years of medical bills from my own surgeries, limited ability to work, and recent emergency vet visits for Savannah have drained what little savings I had. My family helped me pay for Savannah’s first surgery, but there is simply no way to take on another large financial burden.

Asking for help does not come easily to me but Savannah has given me everything. She saved me when I needed saving, and now I need help saving her.

Every donation, share, and kind word means more than I can express. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Savannah’s story helps just as much. My goal is simple: to give Savannah the chance to live the rest of her life pain-free, happy, and doing the things she loves.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read our story and for helping us during this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude and love,
Ashley & Savannah Rose
