This is Sancho, I adopted him from a shelter outside of Houston in 2014. He's a great dog, loves everybody, he brings joy to everyone he meets. I don't want to admit Sancho is getting older, so let's just say he's becoming more experienced at being a puppy instead. With experience at being a puppy, things happen.

Sancho needs a knee ligament replacement and he's going to need braces to wear before and after his surgery. None of this is cheap, they have to sedate him and custom fit the braces specifically for his knees. Due to my own health issues, I've been out of work for quite some time and had to move to Mississippi with my family. My brother is a disabled veteran, and my mom is a senior citizen recovering from a stroke. I'm awaiting a response from Social Security for my own disability, which is not a fast process. My diabetes has created other health problems for me.

I've been raising and selling plants and selling collectibles I've been hoarding for years on eBay to help, but that doesn't even cover Sancho's prescription food or his pills. I know that he'll never be as bouncy and vibrant as he once was, but he's still got years left in the tank if we can get him the help he needs. I've attached a video of him as a puppy as well as a couple pictures. He's provided immense comfort to me as I continue my journey in sobriety, my mother through her recovery, and my brother as he heals and deals with his issues as well.

He's fitting in well with the feral cat colony we have here, but he's in pain and can't run and struggles to get on and off of the beds now, and on the worst days I have to carry him to the yard to do his business.

My little buddy needs help, again. He also has stones in his puppy weiner, and the prescription food for that is around $100/month with autoship discounts. I haven't had the surgery consult yet, but his vet in Waynesboro Mississippi has recommended a surgeon for me as well as a few brands of braces - the braces alone are almost $1000.

Some people might ask why I'd want to go through this for just a dog, or an older dog - Sancho is family, and I wouldn't be here without him. It crushes me that I can't do this on my own due to my own health issues keeping me out of work, but I'd rather ask for help than watch him suffer in pain.
