Hi, my name is Edgar Castro. These past few weeks have been a nightmare for my 8 year old cat, Sage, as my family and I have been trying to figure out the cause of a recent blood clot in his paw. Although Sage showed some signs of arthritis since we took him in as a stray about a year ago, we were surprised to see that he was suddenly dragging his hind legs and having difficulty walking on his front right paw that had curled up.
Throughout multiple ER visits and overnight stays for Sage, we found out that he has a potentially cancerous mass on one of his adrenal glands, causing the clot in his paw. After a consultation with the hospital, we plan on going through with surgery to remove the mass, which may lead to more clots that could be fatal if unaddressed.
The daily medications, routine exams, blood transfusion, ER and vet visits these past few weeks have set us back financially and we have reached the point where we currently don't have enough for the estimated amount that we'll need for Sage's surgery and post-op rehabilitation.
Sage's health is showing improvement after his overnight stays at the hospital and he is currently back in our care for the time being. While he is still a bit weak, we are relieved to slowly see him get back to his usual sweet and attentive self.
Any donation amount will be a great help as Sage doesn't qualify for health insurance. Help us give our baby boy a fighting chance and get him back to a more stable state!
