Give Ruth, Esther and babies a deserving life of love.

My name is Ruth and a few nights ago I came across a post where an urgent foster was needed for 2 very pregnant Shepherd mixes with no chip or tags. There were no Rescues willing to take them due to lack of resources and space. Of course, I reached out and they were brought to me that night. They are a bonded pair and are very far along. They may be mother and daughter, so I've named them Ruth and Esther. This is their story written by the finder.

It was just a quiet evening in the park when I felt two cold noses gently nudge the back of my thigh. I turned around, and to my shock, I saw two German Shepherds standing there, their eyes full of desperation. Without hesitation, I said, “Go home,” but they didn’t move. They just stood there, glued to my side, their bodies trembling and whining, as if they were trying to tell me something urgent. As I looked closer, I noticed something that made my heart break: both dogs were heavily pregnant. I could see the signs: their bodies thin and fragile, their ribs showing, their movements slow and labored. It was clear to me they needed help. They weren’t just lost; they were abandoned. Their eyes were pleading, and I couldn’t bring myself to leave them there. I opened my car door to grab something, and without hesitation, both dogs jumped in, as if they knew I was their only chance. I drove around the neighborhood, asking anyone if they recognized them, but no one did. Some said they'd seen them wandering the block for days, always together, one following the other, never apart. These two are so connected, so bonded. It broke my heart even more to think about the agony they must have been in trying to survive on their own, trying to protect their unborn pups in a world that had been so cruel. But here’s where it got harder: I didn’t have anywhere to keep them overnight. My house is small, and it doesn’t accept dogs. I was trapped. I couldn’t just leave them there, but I had no place to take them. I couldn’t risk them being alone, and I couldn’t bear the thought of them staying out in the cold. So, I made the hardest choice. I slept in my car with them that night, parked under a streetlight, huddled together for warmth. I missed work the next morning. I couldn’t leave them, not like this. The truth was painfully clear: these sweet, devoted dogs had been abandoned, left to fend for themselves with no care, no love, no hope. How could anyone just throw them away like that? These two loyal souls, trying their best to survive, trying to protect their babies in a world that had been so unkind to them. They had no one but each other. And yet, in a world that had been so cruel, they had each other. The bond they shared was something special: two best friends, inseparable, trying to make it through. But how could they? How could anyone expect them to survive in such a state? The sight of their frail, emaciated bodies, ribs visible under their fur, haunted me. It was all too clear they were fighting to stay alive. I didn’t know how long they’d last, or what would happen next, but I couldn’t turn my back on them. I couldn’t walk away. How could anyone?

Update: These girls were cleaned up and taken to the vet for a checkup. We were told they were in bad shape and very close to delivery. We walked out with a recommendation of an X-ray to determine how many pups were inside. I have had many dogs of my own and I know how expensive all of this can get.

This fund is for Ruth and Esther's pre and post-partum care, Spay, Puppy wellness care and vaccinations for all puppies (there will be 2 litters) as well as all miscellaneous needed supplies for their journey. We are also looking for forever homes for the babies. Please be the voice of these beautiful babies and share.
Anything helps and is so graciously appreciated.

Update #2: We had a litter of puppies born last night!!!! Esther had 7 beautiful babies, all healthy, Praise God!!!!
