I'm reaching out for help on behalf of Ruger, an incredibly sweet and deserving dog who desperately needs our support. I've always had a soft spot for animals, and dogs, in particular, have a special place in my heart. They are loyal, innocent, and completely reliant on us to keep our promises to care for them—promises that, unfortunately, are often broken.

I found Ruger in a truly heartbreaking situation. He was covered in a severe flea infestation, his skin was bleeding, and the inside of his ears were infected and oozing. Despite all of this, he was incredibly sweet and loving. It broke my heart to see him suffering like that, and when I was offered the chance to take him in, I couldn't say no.

When we first went outside (with a string as a leash becasue his owner didn't have one), Ruger went to the bathroom 6 times in a row and peed about 14 times. It was clear he had been neglected for far too long, and I knew I had to help.

I live in a small house with two cats and a son - none of them particularly fond of dogs. While I would love to keep Ruger, the reality is that my home situation makes it difficult. And because he's a Pitbull, I don't dare take him to the Humane Society. They are hard to adopt out and he'll probably he put down. Also, not of the Pitbull rescues/sanctuary's are accepting new dogs right now. But Ruger is perfect. He’s calm, polite, and gets along with cats. He even sleeps through the vacuum cleaner! He just needs a loving home where he can heal and thrive.

I’ve already taken Ruger to the vet for an initial checkup, where he received flea treatment, ear medication and cleaning (which were so bad, they were bleeding everywhere after the cleaning), and a rabies shot, and he was estimated to be around 1 to 1.5 years old. The vet bill was $400, which was more than I expected but absolutely necessary to start his recovery. Next, he needs to be neutered, which will cost an additional $270 minimum. The humane society is also not neutering

dogs right now.

I know there are so many animal lovers out there who understand what it means to help a pet in need. I’m asking for your support to help cover Ruger’s medical expenses so that he can be neutered, fully treated, and adopted into a loving forever home. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help Ruger get the care he deserves.
