- Most of you reading this have met Roger, or at least know his voice. He’s been my best friend for the last ten years, and now he needs a little help. Roger has bone cancer and his only option is amputation. While I was hesitant to consider this surgery at his age, his doctors feel that he’s a good candidate. If he’s not willing to quit, I’m certainly not going to be the one who gives up. That being said, the expense of the surgery is an obstacle we’re facing and a difficult one to surmount. If you know me, you know I hate asking for help but for the first time in my life I’m realizing my pride is nothing but an additional obstacle that needs to be set aside.
