My father, Robert Lee, has spent his entire life pouring himself into others. He has been a devoted husband, a tireless father, a proud grandfather, a loyal brother, and a friend who showed up — every single time. Now, for the first time in his life, he needs us to show up for him.
Dad has been diagnosed with kidney failure. His doctors have told us that a kidney transplant is his only path forward — his only chance at more time, more memories, and more of the life he deserves. The road ahead includes specialized treatment in Nashville, travel, lodging, and ongoing medical expenses that stretch far beyond what our family is able to carry alone. We are asking for your help.
Robert is the father of four — his daughter Rhasheeka Lee, and his three sons: Quentin, Eric, and Robert Jr. If you ask any one of us what we remember most about growing up, the answer is simple: Dad working. He never stopped. Not once. Providing for his family wasn’t just something he did — it was something he lived. His hands were always busy, his heart always full, and his presence was the kind of steady, quiet strength that you don’t fully appreciate until the world asks you to imagine life without it.
For over 30 years, he has stood beside our mother in marriage — through joy and hardship, through seasons of plenty and seasons of struggle. He has shown every one of his children what it looks like to love someone with faithfulness and intention. Their marriage has been a living example of commitment, and it is one of the greatest gifts he has ever given us.
When he’s not giving everything he has to his family, Dad finds his peace at the water’s edge — fishing rod in hand, the quiet all around him. It’s where he breathes easiest, where he’s most himself. His illness has stolen that from him for now. It has taken his ability to work, to move freely, to enjoy the simple things that fill his soul. And watching a man like him — a man who never sat still — be forced to slow down has been one of the most heartbreaking parts of this journey for all of us.
But more than anything else, what keeps us fighting is this: he is Papa. To his grandchildren — Raven, Ryan, and Erick — he is everything. He is the man they run to, the arms they feel safe in, the voice that makes everything feel okay. They need more fishing lessons. They need more drives in the truck. They need more of his laughter, his wisdom, and the kind of love that only a grandfather can give. He has to be here for that.
He has always been there for others. Always. And now it is our turn — our honor — to stand in the gap for him.
Every dollar donated will go directly toward his transplant care, medical treatment, travel to Nashville, and recovery. But beyond the finances, every share of this fundraiser is a declaration: Robert Lee matters. His life matters. And we are not giving up.
If you are able to give, please give. If you cannot give, please share. And if all you have is a prayer — we will take it gratefully, because we believe in a God who is still in the business of miracles.
We love you, Dad. Hold on. We’re coming.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
